Different Series of LePera Seats

The key series made by Le Pera Seats are:

Le Pera Bare Bones

Le Pera Silhouette Seat

Le Pera Maverick Seat

The Maverick and Sorrento are two different series of seats. The Maverick is the thicker and wider seat, with additional back support. The Sorrento is a cross between the Silhouette and Maverick, but is not as thick. They’re still good cruiser seats, and the Sorrento sits about an inch lower than the stock seat. The Maverick and Daddy Long Legs are slightly higher than the standard Maverick.

LePera Seats History

The LePera Seats History began with a high school project involving upholstery of family Studebakers. A supercharged Lark interior was the result. By the time he graduated from high school, he was already an upholstery expert and had begun his own business in his parents’ garage. As the company grew, he was making seat pans for Gull Wing Mercedes and Hot Rods. His first motorcycle seat was commissioned in 1961.

Bob LePera started his career as a car painter in the early 1950s. At age twelve, his parents took him to a leather goods store in downtown Los Angeles. He quickly learned how to create unique and exotic watches and belts. By the time he was 16, he had started to work full-time for world-famous drag racer Tony Nancy. He took on the job of doing interior work for his client’s cars and soon began to gain a reputation as an artist who could transform any car into a showpiece.

In the 1970s, Bob LePera began his career by working in his family’s leather goods store. He learned how to make wallets, belts, and watch bands. He developed his artistic talents and began creating leather goods for the motorcycle industry. By the time he was in high school, he was designing interiors for the motorcycles of Tony Nancy. In the early 1960s, he was already working on exotic cars.
