To Find a 12 Foot Motorcycle Ramp – Consider these!

An aluminum, three-piece motorcycle ramp is a great solution for loading and unloading a bike from your car. Its wide design allows for one person to load safely and has a center ramp that is 19 inches wide and two side-ramps that are 14 inches wide. The EZ-Traction punch plate surface and quick-connect support brackets reduce flex and create an even distribution of weight. This is a durable and well-made motorcycle ramp that will help you safely and conveniently move your vehicle.

Buying Considerations

Before purchasing a 12 foot motorcycle ramp, consider the following considerations. How much do you plan to load onto it? This information can be found in your vehicle manual or on the manufacturer’s website. Consider the weight of the motorcycle, fuel, cargo, and any accessories. In addition, the weight of one gallon of gas will determine the size of the ramp you need. One gallon of gas weighs about 8.5 pounds.

Ladder Rungs

A ladder rung on a motorcycle ramp can make loading your bike much easier and safer. To avoid tripping or slipping, the ladder rungs on a motorcycle ramp should be wide enough so you can walk over them. When choosing a ramp, choose a sturdy one that’s built to hold 5000 pounds per rung. Make sure to buy one that has enough space between the rungs so you can load your bike easily.

Another important consideration is the surface of the ramp. When selecting a ramp, check its surface for ladder rungs, solid, or serrated surfaces. Solid surfaces don’t have small holes or teeth, making them safe for use in wet conditions. Serrated surfaces, on the other hand, have small holes that allow the wheels to bite into the surface. While ladder rung ramps are not as safe as solid surfaces, they are easier to maintain and are lightweight.

Rubberized Tongue

A rubberized tongue on a 12 foot motorcycle ramp will prevent the vehicle from slipping or scratching the truck. The ramp can be folded in half, allowing for easy storage. The ramp is also very lightweight, weighing only 9.5 pounds. A motorcycle ramp is essential when transporting a heavy bike. Choosing the right one will make the task of loading and unloading your motorcycle a breeze. Here are three different types of motorcycle ramps you can choose from.

The first type is a long articulated ramp system. These ramps allow you to walk alongside your motorcycle, and many are designed to fold flat. This type of ramp may be suitable for loading your motorcycle in your truck, but be sure to take a look at the dimensions of the vehicle first. If you plan on loading the ramp with another vehicle, you may not have enough space between the bike and the side of the pickup.

Metal Plate

When buying a motorcycle ramp, you should take the dimensions of your vehicle into consideration. Many ramps are too large for motorcycles and lack specific features to help you load and unload your bike safely. When buying a motorcycle ramp, make sure to consider the length, width, and safety straps. Choosing a wide motorcycle ramp will give you more space and will help you avoid damaging your bike during transportation. You can also choose a folding ramp that folds in half from one end to the other, or one with multiple hinge points.

Before you buy a motorcycle ramp, make sure to determine the weight of your bike. This is critical when loading a heavy cruiser into a pickup truck. Having room to walk the ramp is essential for ensuring safety while loading. Make sure you take note of the weight rating of the ramp. You must choose a ramp with a load rating that will accommodate the weight of your motorcycle. Otherwise, you could end up damaging your motorcycle or your truck.

Load Capacity

When shopping for a motorcycle ramp, one of the most important features to look for is its load capacity. A good ramp should be sturdy and have an arched top for smooth transition. However, some types of ramps can have an articulation point which can make them difficult to stow in the bed of a pickup truck. There are also some factors to consider when buying a ramp to make your purchase as easy as possible.

The load capacity of a motorcycle ramp will vary from model to model. Many do not have specific features designed for motorcycles, including a wide footpath. Look for one that has a load capacity that matches the size of your heaviest bike. If you’re using a standard ramp, choose a ramp with a higher load capacity to allow for heavier motorcycles. It’s best to choose a ramp with a higher load capacity than the minimum requirement.
